Finding the Best HD Packages with Your TV Favorites
HDTV is awesome. There's no denying that. The colors, the clarity, the depth of field, all make you want to sit and watch HDTV for hours. Whether you're watching a sport like baseball or auto racing, or a documentary on sea life, or even just the local news, the quality of the visuals is simply incredible. And while it's easy to want everything all the time, we can't possibly watch that much TV and keep all the bills paid. So how do we decide which HD package is the right package for us?
There are a lot of free HD channels available now, so having HD to watch is as simple as having the right HD receiver. And the great thing is a lot of companies are giving away HD receivers when you sign up for service, whether it's with cable or with satellite TV. This means we don't have to break our budgets simply so we can watch that stunning HD quality picture.
Finding a receiver that will fit your wants will depend on several things. First, how much TV do you watch? If you watch a lot of TV, then you'll probably want a receiver that will give you the best HD output. Since your TV needs are going to be greater in that department, that'll be what you'll need to put the most focus on. If you don't have a lot of time for TV, or at least not when your favorite shows are on, a DVR might be the perfect solution for you. With SD recorders, you can record every one of your favorite shows and still have lots of space left. With HD DVR's, you will also get amazing picture quality.
That's one choice you'll need to make. The next is which package of channels you want to subscribe to. There are widely differing packages geared toward different people. While a la carte isn't available yet, with the generous channel arrangements available, you almost don't need it. If you like sports, there are multiple sports packages including ESPN GamePlan that you can subscribe to. If movies is your speed, packages including HBO, Showtime, and Starz may be perfect for you. And the best thing is, when you subscribe to those packages, the HD versions of the channels are thrown in free!
However, if you really do want everything, then you most certainly can have everything. This way, regardless of whether you want to watch a movie, or music event or even the local news, you'll have all those channels available at the touch of a button. With a few clicks of the remote, you can go from watching bass fishing to the latest movie releases on pay per view in HD. Whoever said you couldn't create the perfect package? Not me?
